Jane Davies, Old Man in Old Delhi (PEOPLE 2025)

Amid the hustle & bustle of Old Delhi I happened upon this moment of quiet in the form of an older man sitting against a roller door, rolling himself a cigarette. I gestured from my camera to him. He answered my request with a nod & stared intensely into my lens as I clicked the shutter. We smiled at each other. Immediately I knew that in this brief moment of human connection & reprieve from the surrounding chaos I had captured my image of the day.
