The image reflects opportunity, change and effort. Taken from a physical place of privilege, in a large Melbourne inner city hotel, it shows the long disused interior of a large Spring Street building at night which view would not be accessible to the amateur photographer without having earned the opportunity which created change that provided a profession and qualifications. The image juxtaposes empty with inhabited lit space at Treasury Place where Victorian Government and Public Service workers toil through the night to created opportunity and change for those who sleep in the distance well beyond the horizon line. Shot on iPhone 15 Max, by an untrained amateur.
