Towers burst from the hills, an urgent extrusion. Cables run, strewn about, creating silent linkages throughout landscapes. Gigahertz frequencies hum, buzz, in symphony with the rocks, the birds, the wind. Wire fences sprawl, grasping, as the low clouds roll in. Bright gravel from earth stripped bare cut ley lines soon to be lost. The West Coast of Tasmania has had a couple of hundred years of industrial impacts scattered across its terrain. Now the mining era has ended, seemingly misplaced telecommunication infrastructure and roads to places lost create a fractured network.
