Ralph Green, Nearly up to my knees (ANIMALS 2024)

Except for the dry arid zones that stretch in a widening band from the mid-northwest coast of WA through to the Great Australian Bight, Yellow Spoonbills can be found across Australia grazing in shallow lakes and estuaries. This image of a Yellow Spoonbill, nearly up to its knees in water, was captured near Hopetoun on the south coast of WA. I wonder if it is smiling at me.
