Our native wildlife has been misrepresented and maligned since colonisation, at first as a peculiarity and soon after a pest. Cornered, but clinging to survival on their traditional lands, now devastated and depleted from land mismanagement, they’re shamefully regarded a disposable inconvenience in the relentless march of urban development.
