Paris Montaigne, My Fruit, My Face. 2022 (PEOPLE 2022)

The photograph was driven by an autobiographical desire to connect with the subject intimately, and unveil and analyse the biological connection between subject and photographer: mother and daughter. The work mediates a negotiation of two human beings aiming to make sense of the person staring back at us: the subject staring into my eyes, and her reflection through the camera's lens.
