Louise Faulkner, Moonan thistle (PLACES 2021)

Every year we make the journey to Moonan Brook. A place of no wifi, no busy-ness, no distractions. Nestled under the western wing of the Barrington Tops, this beautiful spot demands close attention. The rising and falling waters of the brook: the wildness of the forest lit briefly by the morning sun: the sharp, deceptive beauty of thorns and thistles: the snoring wombat under the house. The devil is in the detail at Moonan.
