My husband found this injured galah in our paddock and bought her up to the house. I found a container for her, put in some food and water and kept her inside overnight. She didn't eat or drink the first day but gradually she started getting better, and I would watch her roam around outside on the grass. After a few days she was moving around freely and attempting to fly, getting gradually higher off the ground. On the fourth day I was shocked to see her start climbing this tree, attempting to get up to the other galahs. I sat at a distance just watching, and captured this image of her on the tree trunk, her wings illuminated by the afternoon sun. I didn't see her after that day, but we often have galahs land out on our lawn and I would love to think she comes back to visit!
