Rachel Wan, Mind The Gap (PEOPLE 2024)

In this photograph of the Sydney train, rows of three seats are filled with single travellers, each leaving a space between themselves and the next. Despite being on the same journey, there's a quiet space between them, a silent understanding of shared solitude. Strangers, yet connected by the unspoken bond of being fellow travellers, each lost in their own thoughts amidst the hum of the train.
