Memory is a quiet reflection on the fleeting nature of childhood and the way moments are held long after they pass. Captured in soft, directional light, the child’s profile is partially obscured, suggesting the way memory itself is never fully clear, only fragments remain. The glow outlining the figure evokes warmth and safety, while the surrounding shadow introduces a sense of distance and loss. This image explores the space between presence and recollection; a moment that feels both immediate and already gone. The use of monochrome removes distraction, allowing light and form to carry the emotional weight of the work. Subtle details, like the illumination of hair and eyelashes, anchor the image in intimacy, while the subject’s turned gaze invites the viewer into a private, reflective world. Memory is not about a specific event, but about the feeling of remembering itself, soft, incomplete and deeply human.
