Sian Liddy, Losing Sight (ANIMALS 2025)

The ocean is a sink, absorbing the runoff from human activity around the world. Off Kauai, this green sea turtle is afflicted with fibropapilloma tumours growing on its skin and eye. Many turtles at this site had such tumours, caused by a virus that is thought to be more prevalent in areas with higher pollutant loads. Ocean health begins on land.
