Gabi Policinski, Looking into my eyes (ANIMALS 2024)

Taken during a holiday up in Port Macquarie in 2022, when on the hunt for black cockatoos. Stumbled across this cauldron of bats and went about trying to take photos; however, every time I snapped something, they hid between the branches or within their wings. I wanted to capture something directly under a bat, and this flying fox (fruit bat) seemed to happily oblige as it sussed out what I was doing. Taken on a Fujifilm XT3 and processed in Lightroom Classic.
