While photographing flowers in a neighbour’s garden, I turned my lens toward her young son as he watched. I captured a quiet moment of him gazing up at his mother and the home he is growing up in—a place of love, safety, and belonging. As an educator, I’m aware not every child experiences this, but in his eyes, it is unmistakably present.
