Jason Moore, Lioness in leadwood (ANIMALS 2025)

This is one of my favourite images from a trip to the Okavango Delta. The pride had killed and fed on a zebra during the night. When we arrived at the spot early one morning, most of the family members were lying spreadeagled, trying get comfortable with overfull bellies. This lioness climbed the fallen tree in an attempt to get away from all the flies.
