Alyce Tancredi, Left Behind (ANIMALS 2024)

Trixie is a rescue mini Shetland pony with dwarfism. She was the only horse left at the rescue, where her whole herd was adopted including her Mum. This was because of her predicted inability to graze due to a protruding lower jaw. So she was just left behind, all alone. She was rescued eventually and proved everyone wrong and grazes adequately to this day. She has a herd again, but I wonder sometimes if she thinks about where she came from. It's moment like these, where we capture the pause, the thoughtfulness, and the longing that it makes you wonder if they're back to their past.
