Jamie Campbell, Kobe Port Tower Under Renovation (PLACES 2024)
I had intended to take some various photos of Kobe Port Tower this day without realising it was undergoing renovations. When buildings go through this process in Japan they are often draped in large tarps covering the entire structure. At first I was disappointed, but the more I looked at this massive structure 'under wraps' the more interesting I found it. Although I took many photos at different angles and focal lengths it wasn't until using the full zoom length of the Fuji XC50-230mm zoom lens that I settled on this close up. To me it feels simple but also complex like some weirdly shaped circus tent. It became one of my favorite photos from that particular trip.
