Joanne Manariti, Just Me (PEOPLE 2021)
He asked what he should do, and I said ’nothing, just stand there, whilst I check the lights’. And so he did. Just stood there. Looking at the camera. What strikes me most is that it is at these times when you really see the person. All is stripped away. There’s no smile, whether natural or forced. No expression. No trying to express a part of their personality. You can see the person at rest with no other influence, other than who they are. They are just there. Just as they are. Just who they are.
