Helena Kristel, Ingjaldshólskirkja (PLACES 2024)

I had a list of churches that I wanted to photograph on my trip to Iceland in 2023, Ingjaldshólskirkja was on that list. Ingjaldshólskirkja sits proudly on a hill and is surrounded by mountains, it is such a stunning location. This particular day the winds were especially strong, the clouds closed in and it rained from time to time. I was determined to drive to the locations on my list and I am very glad that I did. Something I learned in Iceland, was to appreciate when the weather was good and roll with it when it was not.
