I am Ocean. Born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, the sea taught me to be fluid, to ebb and flow, to hold life in all its forms. Now, in Canberra, Australia, far from the ocean, I feel its absence deeply. Here, I am learning to live without something that feels like a piece of myself. Sometimes I feel Like I am disappearing. I am Ocean, sometimes low tide, retreating and contemplative. Sometimes I am full, waves crashing, energy surging within. Calm and wild, I hold storms and serenity, beginnings and endings. Last year, pre-menopause has arrived like an unexpected squall, tossing my emotions in a dance of highs and lows. I still carry its essence in my veins, its rhythm in my spirit. I am Ocean.
