A wicked storm is brewing and dark foreboding clouds hang low; what luck, the perfect backdrop for Hugo Weaving portrait. He takes a cerebral approach to acting, finding great pleasure in studying the meaning of each word, sentence and comma in the script. Living breathing surrendering to everything part of his character being. He has often been cast as the villain and it is this intensity and drama I want to draw on. We are by the Sydney Theatre company where he has often worked, wrestling with the big questions of human existence, the desire to create meaning in our lives, friendship, love and suffering.
