Meggie Watson, Hour of Illumination (PLACES 2025)

During a recent trip to Thailand I was intent on exploring Phraya Nakhon Cave which is accessed via a relatively short but steep hike in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. My eagerness to see this site was due to both the impressive nature of the cave structures as well as if attended on a clear day and timed correctly, there is an exact window of time when sunlight streams through the cave’s ceiling, precisely illuminating the majestic Kuha Karuhas Pavilion in an exquisite display of light.
