Hayleigh Beach, Haze (Places)

A family 'stroll' that took us much further than I first anticipated, off the beaten track and out of signal for googlemaps to be of any assistance, I estimated what I thought would be a good 10 minute walk, it took an hour. The kids were not happy, the partner was not happy, but we were greeted over the dunes by a perfectly secluded wild beach. The shallows were strewn with masses of kelp and seaweed, which the kids used as wigs, the sun, high in the sky was burning through the smoke haze from the bushfires along the coast. Australia was on fire, there was an element of guilt to be holidaying just a few hours away from where homes were being destroyed, the impact of such, hanging in the air.
