Hamida and her family were on the last plane out of Kabul as part of Australia's Afghanistan evacuation mission in 2021. Educated in Dentistry at University of Kabul, worked as a dentist as well as in the arts, swiftly losing her freedom by the Taliban who confined all woman to the home. Impacting her body, hair and strength. She’s rebuilding her life in Australia, working as a Dental Nurse and Bicultural Aquatic Assistant for the Aqua English Project in Brisbane. The cultural dress she is wearing is one of her own hand made designs. These designs will be sold through an online business, empowering other Afghan women to means. Hamida has overcome tyranny by empowerment of self and others.
