Anthony Reinhart, Fruit Bat in Flight (ANIMALS 2024)

I was visiting family in Stanthorpe, QLD on Dec. 26, 2023 when I took my camera for an afternoon walk along Quart Pot Creek. A noisy colony of fruit bats had roosted on a small island in the creek. I took aim and managed to capture this one in flight. I like how the left wing obscures the bat's head. I also cropped the original frame to provide a clean background, and converted the file to black and white to enhance that clean effect and let the light, rather than colour, do the talking.
