Two military tanks stand in rusted ruin on Antarctica's Stonington Island - the American antarctic division brought them to the island in the 1940s to help them explore the rugged terrain - but the site was wholly abandoned about a year later. Today they remain rotting in place in a very remote part of the peninsula - it was quite jarring to see such aggressive looking pollution in this otherwise pristine wilderness.
