Peter Morton, From realism to fantasy (PLACES 2022)

The mirrored staircases and escalators in Sydney's QVB building are a source of endless wonder. Shoppers appear in the reflective undersides of the escalators before they are seen in person. Lines intersect and you can get a little giddy trying to work out what is the beginning and what is the end. The art of MC Escher was equally mind tantalising but at least at the QVB you can hop on and hop off!
