A determined matriarch leads her family away from the Etosha saltpan, after dusting themselves with the white dust of the pan. The strength, cohesion and complete trust of the Elephant family group shines through as they follow her lead, never deviating from the path she chooses. Familiar paths, well-trodden and lessons learnt, passed down from previous generations. Ever vigilant and protective she raises her trunk and tests the air, checking us out, and watching carefully as she passes to ensure we do not enter the safe space around her family group.
