Kristeen Baggetto, "Fixated Fox" (Black Flying Fox) (ANIMALS 2022)

I photographed this Black Flying Fox at Baldwin Swamp Environment Park in Bundaberg, Queensland. Hundreds of these flying foxes roost at this location each day, which is quite an incredible sight to see. Although maligned by many, these unique flying mammals play a vital role in the regeneration of our forests through seed dispersal, and keeping our ecosystems healthy via plant pollination.
