Fiona Huddleston, Fire and Ice (Places)
Iceland is the quintessential land of fire and ice. This region of geothermal activity is an unpredictable and precarious landscape of steaming thermal springs, gurgling mud, and fissures that emit hissing gasses and water warmed by subterranean layers of boiling magma. It was indeed unique to experience this area in such exquisite wintry conditions.
