Kathleen Wilton, Finding home (ANIMALS 2025)
In the stillness of the ocean, a young seahorse clings to a slender blade, its tail wrapped securely around the stem. This moment captures more than a simple act of anchoring; it symbolises the beginning of a life rooted in the rhythms of the ocean. Juvenile seahorses, like this one, begin their journey in open waters before seeking refuge in the protective embrace of seagrass beds. These underwater meadows serve as vital nurseries, offering shelter from predators and a rich tapestry of food sources.
