Spot the stealth: Somewhere in this mist-shrouded mountain forest, hidden among the dense bamboo thickets, a leopard watches you first. The cool air is thick with silence, broken only by the rustle of leaves and the occasional birdcall. In the highland wilderness of Horton Plains National Park, Sri Lanka, where clouds drift through gnarled trees and visibility shifts with every breath of wind, sightings of this elusive predator are a rare privilege. You don’t find the leopard—it decides to let itself be seen.
