In fact this is the one bull in a 2 image composite. Shot at the 2025 Queanbeyan Rodeo I wanted to show the bull as the star rather than the usual cowboys. To me the bull owns the space and the crowd in the background fades away. Are rodeos obsolete? The woke brigade say yes, but ask the thousands of people who work on cattle stations and horse studs throughout this nation and who use these skills every day ; rodeo is their industry on show and they celebrate it. In monochrome we are forced to study the bull and reflect on the environment of the rodeo arena where they find themselves. I am happy to celebrate it through my lens.
