Valerie Misa, Exposed and Imposing (PLACES 2022)
This photo was captured at sunrise during my first visit to The Cathedral, Mount Buffalo, Victoria, in November 2021. I was preoccupied with taking blue hour shots from a different vantage point, and almost missed this shot. It was great to have captured the light dusting of snow (yes, there was snow in late November) which was melting quickly as the sun began to rise. This imposing and iconic rock formation happened over millions of years, as ice and water chiseled away to expose layers of granite.
