Diamonds and Dust Namibia is my Black and white series taken in Namibia. This one of the shots from the series. I wanted to do a black and white series and I always decide on the series once I am in a place and truly connect and feel it. I was standing at the genocide memorial in tears in Windhoek and I knew i wanted to capture those feelings in Namibia. The diamonds represent not what Namibia is known for but the true gems being the precious Namibian people whose eyes and hearts reflected those diamonds in their generosity and loving spirit. The dust represents mother earth and Africa, the ghosts of the past, the strength resilience and beauty of the Namibian culture and land. I wanted to as always put poetry into my work.
