Diamonds and Dust 2 is part of my black and white series in Namibia.This is Sandwich harbor. The Diamonds do not represent what Namibia is known for but the true gems being the precious Namibian people. Diamonds shining through their eyes and hearts in their generosity and kindness. The dust represents mother earth and Africa the beautiful landscapes, the ghosts of the past, strength and resilience of the Namibian culture and land. I wanted to capture the feelings standing at the genocide memorial in Windhoek in tears and putting not just mine but Namibia's poetry into my work and not just tell a story go beyond that and make people feel something.
