Mary Regan, Deep in the Mist (PLACES 2026)
Tasmania's mighty Gordon Dam sits deep within the reaches of the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park, you don't stumble on it by chance. On a freezing day we drove through spectacular scenery to reach it, with a plan to walk down the very steep stairs and across the dam wall. In the howling wind and biting rain, it was no longer a good idea! Seeing and photographing the dam in the misty setting was however, well worth the trip.
