Natalie Arber, Decompressive Ambience (PLACES 2023)
The shores of Melbourne’s bayside on an overcast morning exhibits glassy waters with gentle waves which meet a richly textured mixture of sand and finely crushed shells in the foreground. Further back, the waters meet a creamy cloudy sky with deep contrast and the softest gradient between the shades. The visual tranquility and vacancy allows the ambience to promote decompression and repreive from the rat race occurring off the shoreline.
