Don Saunderson, Dawn Hunt with the Hadzabe (PEOPLE 2025)

In the golden light of early morning on the Serengeti, we joined the Hadzabe tribe—one of the world’s last true hunter-gatherer peoples—on a traditional hunt. Armed with handmade bows and arrows tipped with poison, the Hadzabe hunters moved silently and skillfully through the bush, their every movement honed by generations of survival in this harsh landscape. The rhythmic click of their unique language echoed softly as they tracked prey, embodying a way of life unchanged for thousands of years
