charly rusconi, Close Up (PLACES 2021)

On this afternoon the swell was huge. Lots of photographers were gathered around the break wall to capture some amazing back wash. I noticed this photographer trying to get closer and closer pretty quickly. He obviously hadn't been there long enough to realise the size of the biggest sets. I pointed my camera towards him missing heaps of good shots hoping for the biggest set of the day. Surely enough within minutes I spotted this wave in the corner of my eye and I knew that was the one. The white wash exploded over the light house and drenched this photographer and his gear. I had my shot and he got his due for getting too close.
