Matthew Nixon, City of Sydney (PEOPLE 2021)

I took this during Sydney's 2021 Mardi Gras. Some drag queens were giving a performance in a bar that began to bleed out onto the street. The show kept amping up, with each new performer one-upping the previous one. I caught the moment one of them dived into a bin by the street. It was great to see my city filled with life again at the world's greatest party with people embracing who they are and having fun.
