Kelvin Hennessy, Cape Byron Waking Moon (PLACES 2021)
This is the full "Waking Moon" of October 2nd 2020 rising behind the Cape Byron lighthouse, the most easterly point of mainland Australia. Several visitors can be seen silhouetted against the moon. For this photo-shoot, which is a single frame of a timelapse video, I was located on the beach 2.5km away from the lighthouse amongst a large number of holiday-makers and party-goers celebrating their first weekend of post COVID-19 travel restrictions.
