Jayden Thomson, Canal of Cherry blossoms in Japan (PLACES 2024)

I was so fortunate to travel to Japan with my parents and grandparents during the cherry blossom season. In full bloom, the Sakura blossoms are other worldly in their ethereal beauty, made more so by its transient blooms, lasting only one week. This black and white photo show the still reflection of the Sakura trees in full bloom. The gnarlyness of the underside branches of the trees, is reflected, which adds a layer of personality, like a slightly creepy side to the beautiful Sakura
