This photograph captures the space between presence and absence. It features a faceless, alien-like figure in an early 19th-century bedroom. Taken at Broadgreen Historic House, Nelson, New Zealand, it uses a slow shutter speed to create a sense of ethereal movement, as if the figure exists between worlds. “I was here, but I am no longer,” the scene seems to say. The technique emphasises the transitory nature of memory and time, while the faceless figure raises questions about identity.
