Lyn Steele, Breakfast at Buckley Falls (ANIMALS 2026)

Small, native fish known as common galaxias (Galaxias maculatus) migrate in large numbers up the Barwon River during late spring and early summer. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to watch this White Faced Heron feasting on a constant supply of these fish at the lower end of Buckley Falls in Dec 2025.
