Beth Mitchell, Black Sea III (PEOPLE 2022)

A self-portrait captured off a pier at St Kilda bay in the late summer afternoon. "Black Sea" harnesses the natural light to illuminate water texture on the skin, dark oceanic ripples and material. My emotive pose encapsulates both peace and ease in the water, a true comforting space during a turbulent period of time throughout the covid pandemic.
