On a recent weeks trek through untouched regions of the 65million year old cool temperate Tarkine rainforest in Tasmania, I was absolutely struck by the multitude of mosses, lichens, and liverworts that formed a carpeted micro forest beneath my feet. The enormous variety of shapes, textures and complexity is more evident when contrasted in black and white.
