Taken in the early morning in Shinjuku, this quiet side street holds the city in suspension. Overnight rain still darkens the asphalt, reflecting narrow bands of light between tightly packed buildings. A handful of figures move through the frame under clear umbrellas, crossing paths without interaction, each absorbed in their own trajectory. The absence of crowds lends busy Shinjuku an unfamiliar stillness.
