A swarm of bees had flown from my neighbour's hives and were busy settling themselves into one of my backyard trees when I captured this image. It was an incredible sight to watch them through my camera lens (and at a safe distance!) as they draped themselves from a low hanging branch. The dappled sunlight filtering in around them provided some interesting natural highlights, shadows and contrasts. A local bee expert kindly came and removed the bees, settling them into a new hive. The swarm, their capture and re-homing, was not something you get to see everyday. I'm very grateful for having had the opportunity to photograph something so extraordinary.
