Peter Ogden, Australia Day 2023 (PLACES 2023)

I took this image on ’Australia Day’ 2023. It’s taken me far too long for the penny to drop about this day. So, I didn’t celebrate - instead I went to our local national park. Ku-Ring-Gai Chase, just a 20-minute drive from home, is named after the Guringai people, the traditional custodians of the land on which the national park sits. It is an incredible place, and it has helped our family through many ups and downs - it gave us an escape into nature during the COVID lockdowns, fun bushwalks with the kids when they had too much screen time and is my photography muse. I’ll be forever grateful for what this land and this custodianship has given our family. Even on a day like this…
