The "Astronomer" sculpture outside Questacon in Canberra is a striking piece of art made from parts of the 1925 Yale-Columbia Refractor telescope, which was destroyed in the 2003 Canberra bushfires at Mount Stromlo Observatory. I shot this view at the 2025 Enlighten Festival. I saw the possibility of a mono image when I noticed the silhouette of the sculpture created by the light projection on the wall of the building. The Lego-like shapes and textures were the bonus and added to the look and feel of a very interesting visual experience.
